Privacy policy
What Cozy Hom Australia collects when you book, enquire or browse, why it is collected, who it goes to and the rights you hold over it under Australian law.
The short version
- We collect only what a booking or enquiry requires: contact details, dates, preferences
- Your details go to the property's reservation system and nobody else without need
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to marketers
- Emails and call notes are kept for booking fulfilment and our legal obligations
- You can request access, correction or deletion at any time by email
1. Who we are
Cozy Hom Australia operates a concierge and reservations desk for the hotel and casino precinct at 33 William Street, Brisbane City QLD 4000. When this policy says 'we', it means the desk's operators and systems, not the hotel's own corporate entity, which maintains a separate policy covering its gaming obligations.
2. What we collect
Booking and enquiry data: name, email, phone, dates, guest counts, preferences and anything you type into a free-text field. Transaction data: quotes, confirmations and payment references (card details themselves are handled by the payment provider and never stored on our systems). Technical data: standard server logs, cookie identifiers described in the cookie policy, and form timestamps.
3. Why we collect it
Primarily to fulfil your request: a booking needs a name, a transfer needs a flight number, a dietary note needs to reach a kitchen. Secondarily for legal obligations (records that Australian consumer and taxation law requires us to keep), and for service follow-up. We do not run profiling, advertising pixels that follow you elsewhere, or data-sharing arrangements with marketers.
4. Who receives it
The property's reservation and banqueting systems receive what a booking requires. Drivers receive names, flights and destinations. Restaurants receive names and dietary notes. Payment providers see transactions. No third party receives your details for their own marketing. Where a provider processes data overseas (payment gateways, email infrastructure), we rely on their contractual privacy commitments.
5. Retention and security
Booking records are kept for seven years to satisfy Australian record-keeping rules; enquiry correspondence is kept for two years, then deleted. Access is limited to desk staff who need it. Systems run on encrypted connections, and payment card data never touches our servers. No online system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the OAIC as required.
6. Your rights and contact
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you may request access to the information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and request deletion where our legal obligations allow. Requests go to [email protected] with 'Privacy request' in the subject. We respond within 30 days. Complaints about our handling can be escalated to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Common questions
Only what a booking requires: your name, dates and relevant notes go into the property's reservation system. Your email and phone are not handed to their marketing lists.
Email [email protected] from the address you booked with. We respond within 30 days; deletion applies wherever our legal retention obligations allow.
Questions about this policy?
The desk answers policy questions the same way it answers bookings: a person, a reply, a few hours.
